About Myklyn's Ministry

Refugee and Asylum-seeking families come (many, from countries unreached by the Gospel) to America with significant relational, emotional, and spiritual needs. While some are eligible to receive refugee-specific services, many are not. More Than Welcome seeks to fill in these gaps by connecting the Church body in Austin (as a conduit of blessing) with local Refugee and Asylum-Seeking families. We aim to bolster spiritual, emotional, and educational wellbeing by: · Providing for tangible needs (ESL classes, case management services, employment help, etc.) · Matching families in the Church with refugee families for relationship-building · Providing trauma healing services · Increasing accessibility to the Gospel and invitations into discipleship The primary goal of each of these efforts is meant to be an opportunity to proclaim good news that the kingdom of God is here. We rejoice in the blessing of seeing Jesus meet our families in their pain, isolation, and hopelessness. For He always redeems.

My specific role as Health Service Coordinator is to build out a simple trauma healing program that is dependent on Jesus’ healing work. I facilitate both individual story-sharing sessions and healing groups based on scripture stories, with the goal of wholeness and discipleship. Simultaneously, I am mobilizing the church to join me! Our families find hope for wholeness again as Jesus meets them in the emotional pain of their stories - All glory to God.
