Hello!

I am SO excited about this opportunity the Lord has provided to be able to work full-time with More Than Welcome as the Discipleship and Ministry Development Coordinator. More Than Welcome exists to support refugees and asylum seekers in Austin. We do this by uniting and activating the local Church, bridging the gap for refugees starting a new life, and by sharing the love of Christ.

Jesus gives us the Great Commission in Matthew 28, commanding us "to go and make disciples of ALL nations." The incredible thing is that the nations are here - right now in our city. With the number of refugees and asylum seekers that have arrived in Austin, there is a great need to walk with them as they transition to life here in America. As the Discipleship and Ministry Development Coordinator, I will be focusing on creating culturally relevant discipleship pathways for refugees and asylum seekers, while equipping local churches and volunteers to engage in Christ-centered relationships with them. My heart is to foster spiritual growth within the refugee community, to create bridges of mutual discipleship between churches and displaces individuals, and to faithfully walk in the Lord's command to love our neighbors.

I am deeply grateful to be stepping into this role, and I know I cannot do it alone! I am dependent on the generous gifts and prayers of faithful partners choosing to join me in what God is doing among refugees and asylum seekers here in Austin. I am eager to see how the Lord moves - thank you for considering partnering with me. It truly would not be possible without the Lord working through you!!!
